In 1998, Main Event promoter Dan Duva passed away and the Duva family split, and he was asked to become the Chief Operating Officer of Main Events.

That would be his last fight with Main Events, as he started has own Promotion company in Gary Shaw Productions, LLC., one of boxing’s most successful promotions in all of boxing.
